PHP Application Developer

We are seeking a keen PHP, MySQL and Javascript developer for a varied role that includes both server-side and user-interface development. Your responsibilities will include:

Developing new features, with frequent direct contact with customers to confirm requirements and get feedback
Producing robust, clear, secure, maintainable, polished and tested code
Refactoring legacy code
Designing new user interfaces for new features
Redesigning legacy user interfaces to be more intuitive and use Ajax rich-interfaces

You should have:

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Good knowledge of PHP, MySQL, Javascript, HTML and CSS
An ability to quickly and independently research and implement appropriate solutions to problems
Good understanding of everything that happens in the browser and on the server(s) during a visit to a web-page

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of all or most of:

LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP)
Javascript (JQuery)
HTML / CSS
Object Oriented Programming
MVC Development
Lighttpd
Git
Amazon Web Services
Load Balancing
Java
RPC, SOAP and RESTful APIs
AngularJS

The ideal candidate will also be able to show a portfolio of, even small, personal or commercial projects, show contributions to open-source projects, be able to supply examples of good code and user interfaces, and speak passionately about wanting to produce high-quality code and interfaces.

Salary up to £40k.
